Tools

---

modular Surveys

Online and offline surveys gather subjective data from participants. We create modular survey components based on well validated scales so that anyone can build a custom survey for their own social experiments. This not only makes our approach scalable, but also ensures that incoming data will be in a comparable format.

Sensors

Time-lapse imagery, local positioning and personal sensors offer opportunities for quantification.

Moles

Hidden passive observers gather observations as outsiders

Infrastructure

Online
Our spaces run on software platforms that collect information about participants and provide opportunities to survey them before and after an event, as well as to correlate data gathered during an event.

Offline
We operate and partner with a network of physical spaces which provide platforms for repeatable experiments, embedded technology, and the development of culture and community around social science.

Community
By operating in the open, we have a community of volunteer operators and analysts to help with the nuts and bolts of hosting experiments through to the data cleaning and analysis.
